I have used the Lapwing image on my previous blog's sidebar
The head is the most important part to get right as its what the bird is all about from a recognition point
The Long-tailed Tits effort was originally started as an exercise in painting leaves, but I added the birds as an after thought
Hey Roy..very nicely done ...especially like the Long Tailed Tits, they are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks GG.
ReplyDeleteWell, you can't have leaves without birds in my book! Very sweet!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I esp. like the way you've done the coloration on the Lapwing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nic, I was touching a dark green on a lighter green to make that look as it does, which is kind of like the real thing. The Lapwing is such a colourful bird.
Really enjoy your artwork Roy. Your header is wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise.
ReplyDeleteI love the birds you added in...it really balances the painting and the postures are all so interesting. You have such a great modern style.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly.
ReplyDeleteLike your work! We only see bush-tits visit our suet - so it is a treat to see a long-tailed tit!
ReplyDeleteHi Helen, thanks.

ReplyDeleteThanks Evie, yes the Lapwing is an old effort.
